Rain comes from the Sun alone; food comes from rain; and from food, all living creation is formed.
What? Rain from the Sun?
We all know that rain comes from clouds. Rain from the Sun?
Yes. The Sun is the very cause of rain.
The Sun absorbs four types of water through his rays from rivers, oceans, living beings, and the earth, and gives it to the Moon. The Moon pours that water back to the earth through clouds.
From that rain, medicines (herbs), food, etc., are produced, and food is the cause for the creation, protection, and nourishment of all living beings.
You can learn about this in detail in the 11th chapter of the second part of Vishnu Purana.
In astrology, the Sun is compared to a king. In the present context, we can compare the king to the government.
The planet Sun tells us about every matter related to the king.
The Sun represents the Prime Minister, President, and any chairperson in the government.
The Sun indicates IAS, IPS officers, legislators, guardians, and the father.
The Sun is the significator (Karaka) of the father.
The Sun indicates works related to the government.
The Sun indicates government jobs, income derived from the government, and opportunities to join the government.
The Sun is the significator of honors and respect.
The Sun indicates the honors and respect that a native receives.
Among the planets, we call the Sun a malefic planet (Papagraha).
The reason for this is not that the Sun is mostly an inauspicious planet. The Sun is a cruel planet (Kruga Graha).
Because, to make his subjects follow laws and rules during his reign, a king needs to be a little cruel.
Accordingly, since the Sun is the king of planets, a cruel nature is necessary for the king.
In mythological stories, we call the Sun ‘Aditya Martanda’. Because in the past, the demons used to constantly invade the deities.
At that time, Aditi, the mother of the deities, performed severe penance towards the Sun. The Sun, being pleased, was born himself as Aditya from the womb of Sage Kashyapa and Aditi.
Afterward, he crushed and punished the demons who were troubling his brothers; for that reason, we call him Martanda. Afterward, he taught his brothers how to protect their kingdom.
From this story, we understand that the Sun is the significator of operation, penance, and results.
The Sun indicates the spiritual level of any native.
The Sun is the significator of power, strength, and operation.
Lord Sun is the significator of heat and sunlight.
Lord Sun is also the significator of being a capital city and a leader.
Lord Sun is also a significator planet for divorce.
There is a reason for that too. It also has a mythological background.
Sanjna, the wife of the Sun, loved her husband very much.
But she was unable to bear that brightness and radiance of her husband. Then, she called her co-wife Chhaya, handed over her husband and sons to her, and left for her father’s house.
From this, we understand that the Sun is a separatist.
That means, when his own wife could not tolerate his heat, who else could tolerate him?
Wherever the Sun sits in a horoscope (Bhava), he creates separation there.
Before the radiance of the Sun, the radiance of others diminishes.
If one wants to see the radiance of any native, it can be known from the Sun.
The native’s radiance, vitality, strength, and power are known to us from the Sun.
If any planet sits next to him in the horoscope, the Sun combusts that planet and its power with his radiance.
The Sun is a worshiper of Lord Shiva.
Therefore, the Sun represents Lord Shiva and Shiva temples.
The Sun is the lord of Leo (Simha Rashi) in the zodiac.
This Leo likes forests, hills, and wilderness areas.
For this reason, the Sun is also the significator of forests, hills, and wilderness areas.
Leo is the fifth house (Panchama Bhava) in the horoscope of the Cosmic Man (Kalapurusha), and this fifth house indicates the stomach, back, and spine. Therefore, the Sun is the significator of the stomach, back, and spine.
The Moon, Jupiter, and Mars are friends to the Sun.
Venus and Saturn are enemies to the Sun.
Even though Saturn is his own son, there is a mutual enmity between the two of them.
There is a neutral relationship between the Sun and Mercury.
